Recently, I attended a gym owner ‘meetup’ event in Hammersmith London. I’ve been to a few in the last 10 years. This was a chance to improve our services and gym in the heart of Newton Abbot. It was a great day, getting to meet like-minded business owners, share stories and learn from each other. The day was topped off with a trip to a local food market which was divine! I could smell the freshly cooked food from 100m away, it was mouth-watering.
This event was a highlight during my year so far. Having been in and out of lockdown in the UK, what made it really great was the chance to have company. A fellow gym owner, Jake Benman Owner of Ulysses Fitness & Nutrition, invited me out to the event. It was his companionship that really made the trip worthwhile. Having the ability to laugh, share stories and finally meet him in person as we have never met in person before due to COVID made the trip worthwhile. We shared memories unrelated to our friendship because they deepen our relationship.
Primal Mvmnt Gym Newton Abbot – Why We’re Different
The thing is, humans thrive on relationships. We form them constantly in our lives from living entities such as friends, partners or pets or material objects like cars, houses, or even when you workout in a gym in the same spot each day.
While many of you reading this are, like myself, more than comfortable spending time alone, we almost always thrive when we’re in the company of those nearest and dearest.
Primal Mvmnt clients will have heard the phrase “intimate, not transactional” in conversations with us. Transactional relationships are everywhere. Petrol stations, local supermarkets, and even gyms. Nothing personal, just a stare from the cashier with a polite “That’s £X pounds please”, tap of the card and that’s it.
This may be convenient and easy, but those relationships rarely last. Your loyalty to that business changes as quickly as the price of bread or petrol.
Then there are the intimate relationships we form. With our spouse, family and close friends; maybe our doctor or other trusted professionals.
This is where Primal Mvmnt thrives.
Gym Mission Statement
Our deepest purpose as an organization is to be the best, most fun, non-judgemental and effective fitness community striving to support the health, mental well-being and fitness of both people – customers, Team Members, and business organizations in general through exceptional services and facilities.
Our mission statement as a company is about building strong close lasting relationships. So herding seas of people to follow choreographed routines, or leaving members to train alone with no coach, support and accountability just doesn’t cut it. So we don’t do mass-market relationships.
We work with clients on a one-to-one basis. As a potential new client our certified personal trainers will sit down with you for a chat about you, your goals and fears, your hopes and wants. They will work with you to design a programme that gets results — A structured approach, starting with your most important needs. This might be nutrition, mobility, or even confidence.
Working with one of our expert personal trainers provides the instruction, support, and accountability that you need to stay on track and meet your strength and conditioning goals.
Your fitness journey at Primal Mvmnt will always begin with one-on-one coaching, either via a Primal Mvmnt programmeme in small groups or with an individually designed personal-training session. This is how we earn your trust. We don’t sell you on cheap memberships and long-term contracts; we coach you with expertise and care.
Trust is a crucial part of this equation.
Newton Abbot Gym That Wants to Know Your ‘Why’
Those of you who’ve been to Primal Mvmnt gym based in Milber, Newton Abbot know I have a Cocker Spaniel named Jasper. Jasper has the habit of being a little exuberant at times. But his journey from a puppy to now over the last 4 years hasn’t always been this way.
When I got Jasper, it was easy for me to accept him. He was 10 weeks old and a cute fluff ball! But more importantly I wanted to help him relax and develop into a confident dog. For Jasper, it was much more difficult. He had to learn to trust me and to develop consistency and patience.
I’ve had Jasper for just over 4 years now, and it’s still a work in progress. He is happy and we’ve made huge leaps in his development, but there is always more to be done.
You are no different.
We’ll accept you immediately, but for you, the process might be harder.
You may have been burned by false promises and had unrealistic expectations foisted upon you by well meaning but inexperienced fitness instructors. You may have been sold the dream by a nutrition programme promising lifelong weight loss—as long as you’re starving yourself or buying their meal-replacement products.
These experiences take time to recover from, and intimate relationships are the most effective way to do so. Helping build healthy new habits that are sustainable.
Believe me, I know. Next time you’re in Newton Abbot, stop by and ask Jasper!
