
I came across this idea recently from a fellow gym owner (PJ), and it really hit home for me. When we set goals—whether it’s fitness, nutrition, or anything else in life—there’s this pressure to think we have to get everything right every single day for it to count. But here’s the truth: that’s just not how progress works.
We tend to admire people who seem like they’ve got it all figured out, those who seem to hit every goal without a hiccup. But the reality is, even for those people, the journey is never a straight line. There are ups and downs, successes and setbacks. It’s part of the process.
It’s About Showing Up
Next time you feel like throwing in the towel or thinking you’ve failed, remember this: the path isn’t supposed to be perfect. Progress isn’t about never making mistakes—it’s about showing up, trying again, and staying in the game, even when it feels tough.
Every step, no matter how small or imperfect, moves you closer to where you want to be. And that’s what truly matters.
So, on the days when you feel like you’re falling short, just remind yourself: the fact that you’re still here, still putting in the effort, is what counts. Keep going—you’re making progress even when it doesn’t feel like it.
