What if your Friday session felt like the best part of your week?
That’s the whole idea behind Primal Games 2026 — we’re taking our normal Friday training and adding a little extra energy: teams, points, and plenty of encouragement. No pressure, no “elite” workouts… just turning up and taking part — and getting rewarded for it.
Primal Games 2026 kicks off on Friday 27th February — and runs for 3 weeks.
And the MOST important thing to remember?
It should be FUN.
FUN because you are around people that are encouraging you
FUN because you have embraced the challenge & going to see it through
FUN because this is a celebration of YOU — YOUR health, YOUR fitness, a way to measure YOUR progress
So… who is Primal Games for?
✅ It’s for you if you want:
- A reason to show up consistently (without it feeling like a chore)
- A confidence boost from doing hard things with good people around you
- A fun way to track progress (without obsessing over scales or mirrors)
- A bit of friendly team spirit that makes the gym feel even more like home
✅ It’s especially great if you’re:
- Busy and time-poor (you don’t need extra sessions)
- Returning after a break and want a bit of momentum again
- New-ish to training and want a supportive way in
- Already consistent and want something that adds a spark to your routine
Bottom line: if you train at Primal, you’re in the right place for this.
What actually happens?
Think of it as Friday training sessions… gamified.
Same coaching. Same training. Just more buzz.
The workouts?
The main thing to remember is these workouts are designed to be:
- FUN
- Accessible for everyone (we’re essentially just gamifying Friday training sessions — nothing more)
If you’re unsure what level is right for you, speak to one of the coaching team.
A good starting point is your overall Level Method score — and considerations can be made for individual Level Method assessments related to the workout if you wish to level up.
Also: workouts are revealed on the day.
So you don’t overthink it all week — you just turn up, have a laugh, and crack on.
Points win prizes (and bragging rights)
You’ll be in a team, and you’ll earn points together across the 3 weeks.
Here’s how scoring works:
1 point for showing up to one of the following Small Group PT sessions each Friday:
06:00 / 07:05 / 09:30 / 12:00 / 17:15
2 points for attending our Small Group PT Friday Night Lights event at 18:30 each week
This one is prioritised to encourage as many of you as possible to attend — it has the best buzz and energy of all the sessions that day.
5 points for Spirit of the Week
Each week each team will vote on a member they feel deserves Spirit of the Week (posted Saturday morning).
The catch: you can’t vote for your own team members — you must vote for someone from a different team.
The Spirit award celebrates achievements, courage, and determination.
The person with the most votes gets 5 points for their team. If we have a draw, the coaching team will decide the weekly winner.
5 points if the whole team completes the workout that day (Friday).
Weekly updates
Each Monday following the Primal Games events we will release the team scores.
Tips to set yourself up for success
1) Pick your Friday slot
Choose the session you can consistently make and treat it like an appointment.
If you want the biggest vibe, aim for Friday Night Lights (18:30).
2) Remember what you’re being “judged” on (spoiler: you aren’t)
This isn’t about lifting the most or being the fastest.
It’s about participation — showing up, getting involved, and supporting your team.
3) Ask a coach if you’re unsure on level
We’ll guide you towards the right option using your Level Method score and make adjustments where needed.
4) Lean into the community side
Cheer people on. Notice effort. Celebrate small wins.
That’s what makes the Games feel so good — and it’s exactly what Spirit of the Week rewards.
The real win (even if you never top the leaderboard)
Primal Games is a celebration of:
- Turning up when life is busy
- Building strength that carries into real life
- Feeling more capable, more energised, and more confident
- Doing it all in a room full of people who want you to win
Team recruitment starts next week and it’s FREE to join.
If you want in, keep an eye out for sign-up info in the gym — or grab one of the coaches and say, “Put me on a team.”
See you on the gym floor. 👊
