Week 2 of the 28-Day Nutrition Challenge
Consistency > perfection (and why your “messy” days still count)
Week 2 is where the challenge starts to feel… real.
The novelty wears off, life gets loud, and you realise nutrition isn’t something you “do” — it’s something you practise inside real life.
So this week’s focus is simple and powerful:
✅ Keep the portion containers consistent (protein / carbs / fats)
✅ Keep water intake steady
Not perfect. Just consistent.
The goal this week: build your “default”
The portion containers aren’t there to make food complicated — they’re there to make decisions easier.
When you consistently build meals with:
- Protein (to keep you full and support muscle)
- Carbs (for energy, mood, and training)
- Fats (for hormones, satisfaction, and staying power)
…you start creating a default plate you can rely on, even on busy days.

Real-life wins from Week 1 (aka: this is what progress looks like)
These check-ins were exactly what we want to see — real people doing this in the middle of real weeks.
Client 1: leftovers + awareness = massive win
One of the best habits you can build is using what you’ve already cooked:
“Today’s lunch using leftover curry… and a salad beside it… didn’t eat all the sauce though as felt satisfied and didn’t want to eat it just for eating sake.”
That’s a huge win.
Not because curry is “good” or “bad” — but because they noticed fullness and stopped without forcing it. That’s long-term behaviour change right there.
And then… a very real day happened:
Busy day, grabbed a Mug Shot, bad news, ended up with fish and chips… but only half a fish, a handful of chips and mushy peas.
“Bonus is I’m also not reaching for the sweets like I use too!”
Read that again: they didn’t turn it into a total write-off.
They adapted, ate a reasonable portion, and spotted a positive trend (less sweets). That’s the skill.
Client 2: the water wobble, but snack wins stacking up
“Struggled this weekend… haven’t drunk as much water… missed lunch… but healthy breakfast and dinner.”
That’s a normal weekend wobble.
But here’s the standout:
“I haven’t eaten crisps for over 2 weeks… massive Monster Munch eater… sweets blip but only ate about 10 instead of the whole bag.”
That is pattern-breaking.
Not “perfect eating.” Not “willpower.”
Just building a new normal through repetition.
Client 3: unprocessed streak + smart swaps
“Not drunk enough water, but haven’t eaten a single processed thing… high protein pancakes kept me full… 30g almonds instead of crisps/choc.”
Again — this is how it works.
Better defaults. Better swaps. Better consistency.
(And yes, you can still have your two coffees. We’re not here to take away your joy.)

Week 2 habit targets (keep it boring, keep it doable)
1) Containers: aim for “close enough” at each meal
If you can nail 2 meals per day with a solid protein + veg + carb/fat balance, you’re winning.
Quick examples:
- Protein + salad + leftover curry (yes, even if it “mixes” 😂)
- Eggs + toast + fruit
- Chicken + rice + veg
- Greek yoghurt + berries + nuts
- Tuna wrap + side salad
If a meal goes off-plan? The next meal is your reset. No drama.
2) Water: stop trying to “catch up” and build triggers instead
Most people don’t fail water because they don’t care — they fail because there’s no system.
Try one of these this week:
- 1 glass when you wake up
- 1 bottle on your desk (must be finished by lunch)
- Drink before coffee (water earns the caffeine)
- Sip every time you check your phone (sounds silly, works brilliantly)
If you’re aiming for a number: keep it simple — 6–8 glasses per day as a baseline, more if you’re active / it’s warm.
Your Week 2 checklist
Pick one focus, not five:
- Build 2 container-balanced meals per day
- Add one extra protein hit (yoghurt, eggs, chicken, tofu, tuna)
- Hit water triggers (wake / before coffee / by lunch)
- Swap one snack (almonds, fruit + yoghurt, protein option)
- If you have a blip: don’t spiral — just reset next meal
Soft challenge for this week
- A lunch you built with leftovers
- Your water “trigger” that’s working
- A swap you’re proud of (crisps → almonds counts!)
- A blip you handled without binning the whole day
